(с) М.Л. Степнова, "Безбожный переулок" "Ogarev thought back on all those who had devoted their lives to overcoming that very natural selection — to ensuring that children survived. Years of groping in the dark, of working by intuition; dashed hopes, the mockery of colleagues, the frenzied mob baying for blood. The slow, agonizing evolution from shaman to folk healer, from folk healer to lay practitioner, from practitioner to physician, and from physician to true human being. Barely a dozen names made it into the textbooks; the rest died in obscurity, yet each had advanced medicine by a single step. A whole step forward". — Marina Stepnova, "Godless Alley" #цитатанедели #quoteoftheweek
