⚡️Специально для Вас публикую видеоролик, посвящённый The Maritime Labour Convention🫡 🔖The Maritime Labour Convention, or MLC 2006, is an international convention created by the International Labour Organisation, also called the ILO. It is often known as the Seafarer's Bill of Rights because it sets minimum standards for working and living conditions on board ships. ✅ MLC is considered one of the four major pillars of international maritime regulation, together with SOLAS, MARPOL and STCW.Here is the easy way to remember the difference. SOLAS focuses on ship safety. MARPOL focuses on pollution prevention. STCW focuses on seafarer training and competence. ✅ MLC focuses on seafarers' work, welfare and living conditions.MLC recognises one important fact: A safe ship needs not only good equipment, but also healthy, rested, trained and fairly treated people. MLC matters because life at sea can be demanding. Seafarers work long contracts, live away from family, operate in difficult weather and carry major responsibilities for safety, cargo, passengers and the environment. ✅ Without clear minimum standards, working conditions could vary greatly from ship to ship, shipowner to shipowner and flag to flag. MLC creates a basic international standard. It helps ensure that seafarers have fair employment conditions, suitable accommodation, proper food, medical support, rest and access to complaint procedures. But remember, MLC is an international baseline. Your flag state, company, union agreement or employment contract may provide additional protections. MLC is divided into five main areas called titles. ✅ Think of them as five questions every ship should be able to answer. 🟢Title 1 asks: Who is allowed to work on board? 🟢Title 2 asks: Are the employment conditions fair? 🟢Title 3 asks: Are living conditions on board acceptable? 🟢Title 4 asks: Are health, welfare and medical needs protected? 🟢Title 5 asks: How is compliance checked and enforced?
